DISCLAIMER: The following review was originally posted on my book blog The Book Challengers and on my Goodreads page. This was my second time reading this book. I remembered reading it the first time round about 4 years ago and thinking that it was utterly sweet and lovely. For some reason I had never gotten round to reading it for the second time till now ... and guess what? It's still as sweet and lovely and heart-warming as I remembered it being the first time round. Maybe even slightly more.
This book ... gah! It's simply everything good about romance. And then some as it makes me have all these feelings that I look for when I'm reading romance novels.
If you don't get this gooey good feeling inside your belly when reading this novel, I don't know what to do about your feelings as Abby and Mark are simply adorable together and I love, love, love how they grow to care for one another. It doesn't matter that it's not like the slow-burn romance novels I usually prefer because it has its own charm to it that makes me swoon and think about flowers and butterflies.
I love how this book has nothing to do with a hot guy and a really pretty girl meeting and falling head over heels in lust with each other as Mark and Abby don't meet till about 90% into the story. I love how they interact with each other and I love how witty they are with each other. I guess you could say that I just love Mark and Abby.
Give it a try if you haven't read this lovely story just yet. :)

When I first stumbled upon Teresa Mederios, it was one of her Historical Romances.
This was the first contemporary story I've read from her.
The banter between Mark and Abby is amazing funny.
I'm such a sucker for banter.
I found myself rushing through reading Abby's day to day, I was so anxious to get back to the Mark & Abby Show.
It was sweet.
It was thoughtful.
And it warmed my heart considerably.
The story was short, but it didn't feel rushed.
I love feeling that sense of contentment from reading a simple "The End'.
It doesn't happen often, but when it does... You know you've struck gold.
Love this story.
OMG! What can I say about this amazing book. I loved the movie "You Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, and after reading the description for "Goodnight Tweetheart" I downloaded a copy to my kindle. I am SO happy that I did.
Abby Donovan is a first time author who's book went to the top of the NYT Best Sellers list, was a Oprah Book Club pick and almost won the Pulitzar. She has been working on her second book for so long that her publisher drops her. Stuck on Chapter 5, she fears that she was a one hit wonder. That is when her agent sets her up with a Twitter account so that she can converse with her readers, get her name out there, and possibly get new followers/stalkers/predators.
Mark Baynard is a English Professor at Ol' Miss on sabatical to see the world and write the next American Novel. By chance he meets Abby on Twitter and the two of them strike up funny, whitty, ROLFLMBO banter that keeps the reader hooked. From Mark teaching Abby "Twitter 101", to "Twitter Dates", to "Views from his iPhone and her Laptop", this story made me roll for the first 12 chapters. But Mark is hiding a HUGE secret that broke my heart, his heart and Abby's as well. I don't want to give it away, so there will be no spoilers, but I can promise you that if you hang on till the end, these "Tweetheart" will find a HEA.
I am so greatful that I picked up a copy of "Goodnight Tweetheart". I would recommend this book to all my friends, my family and anyone that just wants to curl up with a really really really GREAT book. I will be looking for more from this author.
The concept of the book was really cute, and I love books told through twitter/IM formats, so I was excited about this one, however it left something to be desired for me. The biggest problem I had with it was the insta-love! It was IMMEDIATE that these two characters started flirting without knowing anything about each other, and then just jumped right on into this twitter relationship, which felt weird to me. Some of the flirting was really heavy handed and blunt, and if some stranger were tweeting me the same things from the get go, I wouldn't have replied to them, because it's creepy.
Overall, this is a very straightfoward story about our two main characters developing feelings for each other, with one twist at the end and a very open ending. If you're looking for something light without much depth, this may be a good choice for you. I read it in about 2 hours.
